Update: Well that was a huge screwup.
I switched away from Aweber and encountered numerous issues with the new company! After signing up for the $35 price and importing my lists, they immediately charged me an additional $35, claiming my "plan" wasn’t large enough, despite meeting the signup page’s constraints. Then, I spent a week trying to integrate my RSS feed into campaign emails, even reaching out to their customer service. Their support basically told me they wouldn’t assist due to the perceived low cost of my plan.
After panicking about sending Deal emails to Sunshine Rewards members during peak shopping days, I begged Aweber to take me back. They did, reopening my account with everything as it was before. Now, I just need to update forms and clean my lists.
Lesson learned!
Consider giving Aweber a chance, even if your price is increasing. They’re willing to work with you to potentially lower costs by removing inactive subscribers or paying annually.
Original Post:
It feels like only yesterday I discussed switching from Mailchimp to Aweber. Two years have passed since then! At the time, my Mailchimp monthly fees had jumped by over 40% in three years. Having used Aweber many years ago, they promoted significantly lower prices, so I migrated all my sites there.
Fast forward to now, and my Aweber account is increasing from $54.99 to $90! That’s nearly double! Given that I only send emails a few times a year, this is quite a steep increase.
I don’t have any issues with Aweber; they’ve likely added many useful features since I last used them. However, I don’t need most of those functionalities. I have an RSS feed of my blog posts (a few per year) and occasionally send promotional emails.
Another company suggested during a PMA call seemed promising at $35 a month. Let’s see how it goes with this post!
If you have alternative email service providers to recommend, feel free to share in the comments. I suspect many affiliate marketers will be making changes in the next four weeks. Changing email providers is a pain, especially with multiple sites and integrations, so choosing the right one is essential!
